How to check laminate and wood floor drying after restoration

Drying checks are simpler when you test airflow, moisture trend and small-touch movement over a short, repeatable timeline.

Track daily, not hourly

In the first week, check temperature and moisture tendency once a day at roughly the same time. Hourly checks are rarely useful and create noise. Daily consistency gives a stable trend that is easier to interpret.

Pair airflow checks with floor feel

A room can show good measurements but still feel unstable under heavy traffic. Combine trend data with a short tactile check on shared paths. If the room feels different between mornings and evenings, include that context in the log.

Use one small test area for movement

Pick a 60cm path and load it with normal use at the same time each day. This helps you decide whether movement is settling behaviour or new stress from altered use.

Only escalate with repeated signs

One spike is data, not failure. Two consecutive spikes with the same local trigger are worth escalation. If no second signal appears, continue with a normal monitoring cycle rather than immediate intervention.
